Harry Potter Baby Pictures!!

Our youngest baby was born in November 2015. His name is Maverick!

Because we are a family full of Harry Potter fans, naturally we made his nursery in the Harry Potter theme! To go with that, his 3 month pictures were also Harry Potter!!! Pretty much all of the props in the pictures are things from his HP nursery.

Thanks to Pudding Pop Photography for taking the photos for us!
Expecto Patronum!!!

Hope you enjoyed!

Keep your cat out of the Christmas Tree!

Those of us with cats have been here before. You go out and pick the perfect Christmas tree, bring it home and decorate it, then BAM! The tree starts shaking and swaying, and you realize your domesticated house cat has turned into a wild jungle cat who is scaling your tree and knocking down lights, ornaments and the works. I didn't think we would have this problem this year because we got an artificial tree but nonetheless, this 12 lb bastard has figured out a way to climb it. Not to worry! I have figured out a solution to help us all keep our cats out of the tree! And the best part is, you probably already have the solution sitting in your kitchen cabinet right now.

                                  The answer? TIN FOIL.

Yes. It really is that simple. A few months ago I read a tip for keeping your cat off the kitchen counter-tops by lining them with tin foil for 2 weeks or so. Apparently, cats don't like the feel or texture of the foil and stop jumping on your counters. I never had the time to leave tin foil all over my kitchen, but this year when the cat wouldn't stay out of the tree, I decided to try some in the tree. I have the pre-cut tin foil right now so that is what I used. Because my tree was already assembled, I won't lie, it was a bitch getting it in there. All you have to do is tear off enough tin foil to wrap around the trunk of the tree, leaving it laying out on the branches inside, as seen in the picture above. You won't be able to see it from outside of the tree, if anything it just reflects the shine of your tree lights! I did the bottom 2 rows of branches, and so far the cat hasn't tried to climb the tree at all any more! He has gone over and looked up like he wanted to, but just turns around and walks away! Win! If you haven't already fully assembled your tree, I would recommend assembling the bottom row, putting the tin foil in place, then adding the second row with the tin foil and so on. I don't see a reason to go any higher than 2 rows of branches, as it seems to completely deter them with just those rows.

Needless to say, this is the only tree our cat will be climbing for a long,  long time. Thanks for visiting! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

About me

Hello everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog! My name is Christie and I am a 32 year old mother of 4; 3 boys and a girl. My daughter is the 2nd child, is surrounded by boys and has her mind set to drive her parents insane. Ah, who am I kidding, they are all trying to drive us insane. It's like that was their purpose in life. To be beautiful little nuggets of parental insanity.

I love the Harry Potter books and movies. The picture you see is me enjoying a frosty butterbeer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in Orlando Florida. I already loved Universal Studios, so the fact that they have the Wizarding World, just icing on the cake!

An up front disclosure, I will use profanity in some of my posts. If you are easily offended, then this is not the blog for you. If you want to stick around, I will be sharing anything and everything I have found to be helpful, awesome or just hilarious! Thanks for stopping by!
